14th Adoption Day!

Yesterday, our family celebrated Laura and Gary's 14th Adoption Anniversary. It is so hard to believe it has been that long. It seems just like yesterday we all celebrated in our small little apartment after our court hearing.
As tradition, Gary always has flowers waiting for Laura when she wakes up. As you can see, this year was a dozen pink roses. Gary later took Laura to lunch, just the two of them, at Double Dave's. (A fabulous pizza buffet here in Lubbock.) Then, last night for dinner our whole family went out to Texas Roadhouse. It was a day full of celebration. Of course, all the girls love to tell their friends they are celebrating Laura's adoption day. Especially the friends at church. It totally confuses everyone and that is the part they enjoy.
Speaking of the official day, we recently got out all the fun announcements we sent out that Uncle Randy designed, pictures, along with the stickers the judge gave us to wear on that day. And, every once in a while we will listen to the song by Paul Overstreet dedicated to that day as well. ("Love Helps Those")Wow, we have come a long way! It is hard to imagine in another 14 years Laura could have a family of her own. However God decides to design it.
