Snow Day

Let's just say it was not quite what we thought it might be.

We have been hearing for over a week at every news cast, radio break, etc. that this would be the storm of the decade. Even through Thursday evening, we were told to get prepared for 10-12 inches of snow. LISD made an unheard of decision and cancelled Friday classes at 4pm on Thursday. (A little weird considering it was cold; but very dry. Not even a drop of rain.) None the less, the girls looked forward to an extra day off of school and sleeping in.

As Texas weather goes, LISD looked a little foolish. We saw nothing until about 1:30pm on Friday when a little sleet began. By early evening, it was done. Just a mild dusting of sleet on the ground.

We woke Saturday morning with the same covering, nothing more. But the weather was somewhat more accurate as snow began to fall at noon just as predicted. Definately no 10-12 inches; but we had 3". After all the hupe-la, we were glad for something. Unfortunatley, it was such an icy snow that even standing on it you didn't sink. So, not much fun for building snowmen or snowballs (that would hurt).



Laura is realizing the older you get the colder snow feels.


Hailey just enjoys life.


Garyn wanted a snowball fight; but none of us were up to the pain of that ice ball.
