Bibbady, Bobbady, BOO!

Garyn and I had a fun task this past weekend. Each child in her class was placed in a drawing to take home the class pumkin to decorate. By a random drawing, Garyn won!

So, Friday we brought the pumpkin home and began thinking how we could decorate it. The only stipulation was that it could not be carved. (No rotten pumpkins in class.)

Garyn said one class had already sent their pumpkin home and the girl that decorated it had turned it sideways and used the stem as the nose of an ugly witch. She thought that was very created; but didn't want to do anything "scary". So we decided to find something creative that noone else would do.

That's right, it is Cinderella's Carriage! True to the story, it was made from a pumpkin. We had a blast spray painting the body blue, painting the stem gold and adding a tiara for a "princess" effect. The wheels are made from half styrofoam balls painted to match. And of course, we added a little star garland to represent the magic before midnight.

As you can see, Garyn was so pleased to present it to her class this morning. (Although she was sure the boys would make fun of her!) She received all kinds of encouraging comments from teachers, parents and students alike as she (well, her daddy) carried it to class. Everyone thought it was very creative. Mission accomplished! I love this little princess!!!!!
